Edwardian antique 10k gold brooch pendant with 14k gold chain. Absolutely stunning antique piece, features a wonderful flower shape brooch pendant, each "petal" is studded with tiny seed pearls, in the center is a genuine round cut.
20ct demantoid green garnet, a rich emerald green color, these garnets are increasingly rare, most are from Russia... In excellent condition, the pendant is marked on the back side with etched in letters "VCPX"... While those are most likely makers marks, it is not marked with carat gold, but has been tested to be solid 10k, almost a rose hint to the gold color, c.1900's Edwardian era, the safety clasp is typical of this era and is in fine working condition. A vintage 14k gold chain has been added to be able wear as a necklace... The chain can be removed from the pendant and it can be worn as a brooch. Chain measures 18 long, the pendant/brooch is approx. 1 1/2" from top of bail to bottom of pin, and 1 1/8" wide. Total weight of the 10k brooch/pendant is 7 grams, total weight of 14k chain is 1 gram. It is a masterpiece in design.
Flower-like themes in jewelry became quite popular too due to Queen Alexandra's love and appreciation of flowers. Pearls were featured prominently in Edwardian jewelry as well. All my items are come from local estates/auctions, so all will be pre-owned unless mentioned above. Thanks for looking and please check out my other listings for more great vintage items!
