Antique Victorian 18k Huge 4.65ct old mine diamond purple star sapphire ring

  
Thank you for taking the time to look at this very rare antique early Victorian Circa 1870 - 1880 solid 18k yellow gold ring with 62 old mine cut diamonds black enamel and a natural purple star sapphire cabochon center. It is a large ring that weighs 12.9 grams and it is a size 8 1/2 with the top measuring just over 1 inch in diameter. The center stone is a natural untreated purple star sapphire with a beautiful six ray star seen in the sunlight that is not seen in the photos!! This is a beautiful gemstone carefully examined under magnification it is in excellent condition without scratches or abrasions and is a dome-shaped gumdrop cabochon that measures 8 mm around in diameter and approx 6 mm high and weighs approx 2.9 cts , there are 34 old mine cut diamonds around the outside border with 14 very small diamonds set right next to the black enamel then there are 14 more larger old mine cut diamonds all in a halo around this gorgeous natural purple star sapphire center stone. Total of 62 diamonds 48 of them are 0.035 ct each and the 14 smaller ones are 0.007 ct each giving us a total diamond carat weight of 1.75 cts and a 2.90 ct sapphire center stone gives us a total carat weight sapphires and diamonds of approx 4.65 tcw.

The maker used clean diamonds without black spots many of them are VS quality some of them are SI1 or SI2. There are markings on the inside of the band kind of hard to read it has been professionally tested here as solid 18 K yellow gold.
