Exquisite Victorian Silk Lampshade from Country Estate extremely rare

  
Have never come across another one like this and assume it was probably custom made for the estate. PLEASE READ THE FULL DESCRIPTION AND LOOK AT THE PHOTOS. Being silk, it reflects light beautifully. Under bright indoor sunlight it appears to be plum colour and in the evenings/night it appears to be dark brown. This not only serves as a lampshade but also doubles up as a nice interior decor item. Would be ideal if anyone has a animal theme in their house. One thing that puzzles us is whether the birds are embroidered or are they stuck to the outer silk cloth. Nevertheless, the quality is exquisite and a definite piece of craftsmanship. CONDITION: While it is not in tatters, it has wear (though not detrimental) to the back.

I fear this was inflicted probably by the staff who might have not been kind to the lampshade and might have mishandled it or stored it carelessly. This has inflicted scratches though they are just on the surface and fortunately on the back side.

This would not be noticeable if they are stationed in a corner or towards the wall. Being silk, the scratches are more vivid than it would have been on a cotton or other fabric. There are 2 small holes (pictured) where the outer fabric and inner lining seem to expose the frame.

The inner silk lining has some faded light stains and only visible when peeped in. Inner lining might have some small holes as they are very delicate.
