What a sweetie of a ring! Such a romantic choice for an engagement piece.
Sometimes I really get attached to certain things I have in my shop and wish very fervently that they find a great home. This ring deserves someone who really appreciates her unique charm.Rose gold has been very popular in recent years and this piece shows that it was certainly coveted in times past as well. The setting is a scrolling band of "off karat" 12K rose gold actually testing closer to 13K but karat weights were not standard when this ring was made. The band measures 7mm at the widest point and tapers to 3mm at the back of the band. The setting is a crown style in profile.
The diamond is hand cut but closest in style to an old mine. Very chunky and oddly shaped with a small table and large open culet. If you want perfection or symmetry this is not the diamond for you. But if you want charm and one of a kind uniqueness, look no further!
I would say its closest to an oval cushion shape but looks round on the hand. It measures 4.4mm in diameter and is estimated to weigh about. This is a deep stone so it "faces up" as a bit smaller than the estimated carat weight. Two prongs need re-tipped which can be done by your jeweler.
The stone is secure as is. The diamond has a small chip that extends to the table and is visible under magnification but not to the naked eye. Currently a 5.5 if can be resized by your jeweler. This beauty weighs 2.1 grams. I have had too many packages go missing.
